Summer hangs on

Here I am coming to you from the deck. It's already pretty hot and that's odd considering how late into September we are. It's not early fall hot. It's still summer hot, another day in the 90's. Swimming weather. Tanning weather. Fall feels very far away although we now can see it approaching in the weather forecast. It should be about 25 degrees cooler this time Wednesday morning and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Sure, I complain and complain about how this is seems to be the fifth month of summer that we have had this year. But I also know that there are certain things about cold weather that suck just as much, maybe more. It's just hard to remember what those things are as I sit here and feel like the humidity is laying on me like a hot blanket.
In other dumb news, I've been experimenting with different ways to send entries to this blog for as long as I can imagine. Now I have an old and very cheap Android tablet out here with my Logitech K480 bluetooth keyboard. I wanted to try out the Blogger app but it doesn't appear to let me put the picture where I want it in the entry. I assume it will just throw the picture at the bottom or at the top and not in with the dialogue where I actually want it. Who designs these crappy apps? Apparently people who don't actually use the crappy apps in real life.
I have to mow this afternoon and I am hoping it is the last "hot mow" of the year. I'm ready for the grass to go into hibernation but that hasn't happened. It almost dried up, a surprising development considering the amount of rain we got this summer, and then we got just enough rain to make it come back to life. Surprise! You get to mow again!
It doesn't feel like fall at all, no matter how many Pumpkin Spice Lattes I drink. I'll get back to you later this week when it actually does feel like fall and I'm sure I'll have a whole new set of weather-related things to complain about that I'm just too hot to think about at the moment.
